It is my sad duty to inform you that former Club Official John Clayden, a long time member of TARFC, died on Thursday afternoon, 1st July.
Well known for propping up the bar on a Saturday afternoon with his friends Chris, Steve, Jack and Chammo and various others. He loved watching the rugby although he had never played.
Since he retired in 2002 he had served the Club in various ways as a valued volunteer getting involved in many ways such as keeping the showers and toilets clean for the weekend he also served 7 years as Club Secretary, the longest continuous period as secretary post war. John was also responsible for running the TARFC 200 Club, a very important fund raising venture for The Tics.
RIP John Clayden
